Do You Want to Create a Tribe? The Answer Lies in Biblical History

You want to create a following?  You want to develop that long tail list that gives you sustainable and long-term growth, but you are not sure how to do it.  Ok, you know that a good way to start is by setting up your SEO WordPress blog, followed by a Facebook Fan page, Twitter, YouTube & Linked-In, etc.

Are you feeling overwhelmed yet?  Well, let’s step back a bit to get a better perspective.  The development of your blog and social media sites are all technical problems with fairly simple solutions.  They are tools that help you along the way, but they do not provide the pathway to a long tail list of followers…your tribe.

I see this scenario in so many “newbie” bloggers.  I made the same mistake.  I got passionate and ramped up my blogging when I was first introduced to online marketing.  One of my original mentors told me to just “start producing good content” and I would pick up the concept as I went along.   Well that was only half of the solution.  The other half…the most important part is to understand philosophically how to create a tribe…how to create that long tail list.

As I progressed and learned more, one day I started to read one of my favorite books…the Bible.  I went back and read the “Four Gospels” (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) and then the “Acts of the Apostles”.  As I reflected on the lives of Jesus and the Twelve Apostles, I began to fully understand the concepts of tribal development.  Here was a man, 2000 years ago who went and “called” twelve men to follow him.  What followed quite literally turned the then-known world upside down.  It was an unstoppable movement of empowered men following their tribal leader, Jesus, the Son of God.  Do you think you could find a better mentor?

Earlier today, I was meeting with one of my mastermind colleagues and friends…a brilliant lady by the name of VaNessa Duplessie.  We were discussing different strategies to developing more income streams.  We both agreed that incorporating Christianity into the online world has been long overdue.   Later in a Facebook Group called the Empowered Tribe, another online genius and friend, Ken Pickard made the comment that Jesus was the original network marketer.  The difference is that his comp plan is the best ever and it is FREE.  He asks and you accept…it is that simple.  Now this is empowering!  This is truly living unstoppably…

Yours In Success…

Very well said Martin! I’m just as guilty as the next person when I say that people get so caught up in, and passionate, about “worldy riches” when we’re missing out on the ultimate riches always free and available from our very own Savior, Jesus Christ. It’s amazing the results and rewards we can receive when we just put God first because after all, he IS in control… he will never fail us. Ever =)

Wonderful post Martin. Loved masterminding with you today. There’s nothing like an awesome face to face meeting. And this was the biggest take away for me from our talk. I am glad you decided to write about the Apostles being a tribe. I love my tribe. I look forward to more connecting. Be Blessed!

Thanks Ashley for your unique perspective. That is so easy for all of us to do…we have all been guilty of that. God is in control and will see us through. All we have to do is accept. It is that easy and so often we make it into a production. I think that God sits back and probably shakes his head in disappointment at how ignorant we are at his infinite love.

VaNessa…in our online world, those face to face meetings are so important. Having a mastermind session with someone as intelligent as you was inspirational for me. Thanks so much and I too am so glad to be a part of Jesus’s Tribe. He is the only way!
