Why Facebook Will Make Your Blog Obsolete!

Facebook is changing again and again.  People are complaining.  They are not happy with the new format.  Some have even gone so far as to say that owners of Facebook are insecure and that is why Facebook has seen frequent changes.

What is wrong with change?  Why are people so hostile?  I was discussing these changes with one of my partners earlier today.  We came to the conclusion that it is the cry of frustration on the part of individuals who complain about any kind of change in their life.

I love what Facebook is doing.  Timeline is so cool.  It is going to be like your own personal biography…and the “Ticker”.  It reminds me of Twitter and the continuous feed.  We both agreed that Facebook must keep evolving and that we must remain on the top of our game to enlighten and educate our tribe of followers.

This evolution that is evidenced by the frequent changes seen with Facebook is a word to the wise.  Facebook is going to continue to make changes as time goes on.  You should take a cue from them and review your online presence.  When was the last time you updated your blog?  Do your graphics portray that hip, edginess that attracts customers?  Are you maintaining that SEO edge by properly integrating key-word rich content that incorporates post tags and hyperlinks to drive traffic?  Are you providing great…not good but great, content? If not, then Facebook might just be rendering your blog irrelevant by setting the standard and displaying to the world that they are not going to sit on their proverbial laurels.

What will it take to spin your wheel?  What convincing do you need to review your online presence in order to maintain that “edge”?  Do you want to have an unstoppably empowered online presence?  Or…are you comfortable letting your online presence fade into blogging irrelevance?  The choice is yours.

Better yet, contact my good friend and business partner…Eric Bryant at Core Zero Creative, for a comprehensive consultation on the current relevance of your blog.  Do it today and start on the road to blog empowerment.  Don’t let Facebook’s changes render you irrelevant.

Martin, this is spot-on. The only constant is change. I, for one, love it! I love to see how companies adapt, and I enjoy not only learning about and keeping up with the changes, but also finding ways to work within the changes to tweak and maximize results and gain a competitive edge; to push the implementation of the changes right to the edge of what can be accomplished. This is a great post, Martin. And one more bullet in your ammo clip to ensure that Facebook does NOT render your Blog obsolete! Great work!

Hey Eric…thanks for your comments. You are so correct with regards to…the only things that is constant is change. This is where we have to bring our “A” game to the table.

    hey martin

nice read but i dont quite agree with your topic 100%.  if anything, Facebook could make your company website obsolete.

many blogs are still 2 way traffic (as we’re displaying now) and company websites for the most part are not.

if i checked out a businesses website, found their social medias, clicked it and found their facebook page was jumpin’, why would i go back to their website?  i probably and most likely wouldnt.

i also find that blogs on their own can stand on their 2 feet, and some websites simply cant (thats why id almost always recommend a blog on a different domain than just using a page in your main website).

i do agree with your last comment that you blog should be looked at by someone professional.  :)

    Thanks Dexter!
Great comments. I always welcome comments Pro or Con. I agree with what you are saying and my topic has done what I wanted…create debate and possible some controversy. My thoughts behind this post were directed at how Facebook is constantly changing and evolving. If a person has a website or a blog site and never gives it a re-fresh, then the Facebook effect could render it obsolete…bloggers and business owners need to get off their laurels to stay on the cutting edge. Thanks again!:)

It is all about the Facebook Buzz!  I find it a little easier and taking things step by step.  In fact, I’ve written my latest blog about it.  I feel like no matter what changes we need to adjust to, the simple fact is that Facebook is growing and we have to adjust to it.  The main reason to use Facebook is to give good content, good comments, and NEVER be negative.  As long as we use those basic principles, we are all going to be fine.

I don’t really agree with this at all. First off, blogs and Facebook are two different operations and we use them in completely different ways. The way we digest and engage. secondly the functionality you have on a website is vast compared to a Facebook page.

Thanks Donna…well said. It seems that if more people took your approach, they might have less stress and be more productive.

    Hi Shea…
Thanks for your comments. You are correct from your comments RE: the mechanics of FB & a blog. What I was attempting to convey was that FB is continually evolving. If you do not make a point to engage, evolve and update, your blog or website will become obsolete due to stagnation:). Thanks again for stopping by. I welcome all comments both pro & con.
