How to Handle Your Snack Attack Vegan Style

We all love our snacks.  In fact, we love them so much that sometimes diets just have to go out the window for a day.  Can you relate?

My wife and I are in the process of changing our diet to a more plant-based diet, a.k.a. vegan.  Through this process we have quickly realized that we need to deal with the reality of needing snacks.  We are not 100% vegan.  I don’t think that it is realistic to wake up one day and decide to immediately go vegan, so do not frustrated if you are having challenges staying on the vegan lifestyle.  I think that to make these kinds of changes successfully that it require careful planning.  Your grocery list will change.  Your meal planning will change.  Your budget will change, but most important is the fact that your health will change for the better

Coincidently, through our own research, we are realizing that going vegan is not enough.  Becoming alkaline in our diet is the real kicker.  Most disease processes stem from an acidic pH in our bodies.  So the challenge becomes, how can we find vegan snacks that are either alkaline or are close to being alkaline on the pH scale?

Angela Liddon, of OhSheGlows.com, has shared a recipe for a very tasty, healthy, vegan snack that is chocked full of powerful and energizing nutrition.  It is not only vegan but the ingredients are alkaline.  They are called “Endurance Crackers”.  These crackers are free of gluten, soy, nuts, sugar and oil.  They are great to take on a hike, skiing, after working out, or anytime when you need a quick snack.  Enjoy and be healthy!

I have been eating vegan, Engine 2 Diet, for 3 months. The hope was to reduce my cholesterol. I was so disappointed when my cholesterol, ldl and triglycerides all went up. So now it’s on to see a naturopath who I have for another health issue, treated naturally, and is under control with diet. But, I like the mostly vegan way so my husband and I are staying on it.

HI Patricia…It is very likely that the problem relates to your diet from another angle. Many people think that veganism is going to be the fix when in reality they are consuming acidic foods. Lose the acidity…go alkaline in your diet and cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL’s will all go down along with a fair amount of weight loss. You will be shocked at the change. I have lost 15lbs in 3 months on Green Smoothies and making my diet alkaline. I still cheat some, but I have made dramatic improvements and I do not count calories. I can email you with the names of 2 books to get if you like. You let me know:)

I confess I am not a vegan but I am a close watcher of my diet. The challenge for me was to reduce the intake of carbs, the empty kind. I have been delighted at the fact that it wasn’t so hard. What I wasn’t aware of so much is the alkaline part that you mentioned and how & what I need to pay attention to. Your information is very helpful in that regard. :-)

Get the book “The pH Miracle” by Robert Young. I am not an affiliate of his, but he is probably the top expert in the field. I would also suggest you go to my site and click on the affiliate link for “The Green Smoothie Revolution” and get a book by Valerie Boutenko. This is where we started. We also have Robert Young’s book. Thanks.
