Pay It Forward and Make it Your Best Christmas Ever

christmas-wallpaper-8Amid the turmoil and frustration of preparing for the Christmas holidays, I suddenly stopped and reflected on a very close friend.  He is a friend who is always there.  He is a friend who always cares.  He is a friend who laughs with me and grieves with me.  When I am sad, He wraps His arms around me.  He is someone whom I can always talk to about my inner most thoughts and concerns.  He continuously cares about how I am feeling.  He cares about my health.  He always put me first even when I do not put Him first.  At the lowest points in my life He carried me through.

You see, before I was born He existed and knew all about me.  He has always Nativityexisted.  He loved each of us so much that He came to this earth about 2000 years ago and was born in a humble little manger.  He grew up in a poor family until it was His time.  His time came and he showed us the true meaning of paying it forward because He lived to make others feel better.  He lived to heal the sick and raise the dead.  He lived to die a brutal death so that we can live and spend eternity with Him.  He arose from the dead three days later triumphant over the grave.  He is the resurrection and the life.

He gave us the most incredible examples of paying it forward throughout His life on earth.  His final example was when He went back to Heaven.  He said, “Don’t let your hearts be troubled.  Trust in God, and trust in me.  There are Jesus_Resurrectionmany rooms in my Father’s house; I would not tell you this if it were not true.  I am going there to prepare a place for you.  After I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me so that you may be where I am”.  John 14:1-3 NCV

Do you know my closest friend, Jesus?  If you do, then share this with someone who may not know Him.  If you don’t know Him yet, then take a few moments and talk with Him.  He is just waiting and wants to be your best friend too.  Pay it forward my friend and have a wonderful Christmas holiday.

Wonderful post! People should remember that it is Jesus Whom we celebrate on Christmas, but not His Highness, Commerce. We are so preoccupied with presents’ purchase, decorated trees and fabulous meals, we are so busy with ourselves and our selfishness that we forget about the real meaning of this celebration. Above all, Christmas means generosity, humbleness and love.
Merry Christmas everyone! :) Best wishes from Romania!

Thanks Laura. Yes, if we focus on generosity, especially with the less fortunate everyone wins. You will be surprised at how the individual who give will be the biggest winner.

Same to you, Sherry and thanks.

Merry Christmas, Martin. I commend you for putting our attention back to the man who started it all. Too often, we forget …

  • http://www.Empower2Go.com Martin Casper

Thanks Doreen…you are correct. We all get caught up in our lives and forget or ignore the real reason that we celebrate Christmas.

Ahhh…Martin, I love this. As soon as I started reading, I knew who you were talking about, and I have to admit that my eyes teared up a little bit. Thank you so much for giving honor to the Lord. I mean…we are all getting ready for the holiday to arrive, but I wonder how many of us are preparing our hearts and lives for His return. I want to be found ready…lacking nothing by His grace. Thanks for this article. It’s so refreshing to read a post totally dedicated to Him!!

Thank you for this! At a time like this (and all the time), we need God more than ever.

Thanks for posting this right at the time that people need a reminder of what Christmas is all about. The stress of the holiday’s should never overshadow the true meaning of what the day means. My mother recently traveled to Medjugorje in Bosnia and was completely enlightened. I look forward to going to church with her this Christmas.

Thanks Christi…I am humbled by your kind thoughts. Unfortunately, in our fast paced lives so many individuals do not stop and spend time with Jesus. I have completely surrendered my life to Him. He is “The Way, the Truth and the Life”. I begin and end each day with prayer and Bible study…it is the only way. Like you, I long for His soon return. We can celebrate the true meaning of Christmas each and every day in Heaven and the new earth. Praise His name. Merry Christmas and God bless you and your family.

Thanks Johnny…I read a book called “The Desire of Ages”, written by Ellen G White. In this book she stated that if every individual in the world would take 20″ and spend contemplating Jesus dying on the cross that the majority of the evil in this world would go away. Yes, we need God more than ever right now. Thanks…Merry Christmas. I highly recommend this book:)

Praise the Lord for that, Kelly. I will put you and your mom on our prayer list. That is neat! I agree…the stressfulness of the holiday season should never overshadow Jesus coming to this earth to save each and every one of us. Merry Christmas!
